The Healing Balm Foundation

Building Transparency and Accountability in Kanchele Ward

Over the last two days, the Healing Balm Foundation held a Training of Trainers (ToT) in Musokotwane Village, Kanchele Ward, Kazungula District. The training brought together community leaders and stakeholders to learn how to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in their communities.

Here’s what we covered:

✅ Human Rights-Based Approach to Service Provision – Understanding how rights and dignity are at the center of service delivery.

✅ Corruption and Public Funds – Why corruption must be fought and how to ensure public funds are used properly.

✅ Social Accountability Tools – Using tools like Public Hearings and Community Score Cards to rate services and empower citizens to demand better services.

✅ How to Hold Duty Bearers More Accountable – Practical ways to ensure leaders and organizations answer for their actions.

This program was made possible with the financial support of the Federal Republic of Germany and co-funding by the European Union under the Enabling Access to Justice, Civil Society Participation, and Transparency Programme.

We also thank our partners:

  • Anti-Corruption Commission Zambia
  • District Education Board Secretary (Kazungula)
  • Senior Chief Musokotwane, traditional leaders, and area councilors

Thank you for your support in making this training a success! Together, we are empowering citizens to build better, more inclusive communities.
