2024 APN ASSEMBLY: DAY 1 Policy and Practice 

Theme: Collective Freedom from Collective Struggles

Held on 4th of November, 2024 in the breathtaking setting of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, The Healing Balm Foundation took a leading role in organizing Livingstone’s civil society organizations (CSOs) to join the 2024 Africa APN Assembly brought together thought leaders, change makers, and community advocates to explore how philanthropy can move beyond policy frameworks into transformative practice. The theme of the day centered on bridging the gap between policy and practice to foster just and fair societies, with a focus on amplifying African voices and indigenous practices.

The discussions were enriched by a keynote address from Diakhoumba Gassama of the Hewlett Foundation, who spoke passionately about celebrating Ubuntu/Utu as a guiding principle for philanthropy and community resilience.
