THE COMMUNITY AND THE SCHOOLS

Traditional leaders, women, and youths have called on schools in the district to engage the communities and follow the Ministry guidelines on the utilisation of school resources.

Meeting Objectives:

To provide a platform for schools and communities to interact and strengthen relationships.
To educate the community on the use of public resources and the school feeding program.
To foster collaboration between Parent-Teacher Committees and school administrations.
To promote transparency by displaying school funding profiles.

Attendance: The meeting was attended by a diverse range of stakeholders, including:

• Youths
• Women
• Traditional leaders
• Ward Development Committee members
• Agriculture camp officers and
• Other interested parties

The meeting was an interactive session designed to share knowledge and empower communities to hold duty bearers accountable and monitor public resource utilization. Education was emphasized as a critical entry point for community development, enabling individuals to learn how to demand transparency and accountability.
The meeting was successfully organized and facilitated by the community champions, ensuring a productive and engaging discussion. The outcomes of the meeting will contribute to the ongoing efforts to promote education, transparency, and accountability within the community

Regular community meetings should be held to maintain momentum and ensure continued engagement and community should be encouraged to actively participate in monitoring public resource utilization and demanding transparency and accountability.
